The new King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) will feature a 670,000 sq. m. passenger terminal complex with the capacity for 80million passengers a year.
The order for Emperor cleats was secured through Ellis’s Saudi distributor, Riyadh-based Mena Arabia.
Installation of the products is currently underway and KAIA is scheduled to open in 2015.
Tony Conroy, export director for Ellis: KAIA is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the world today and securing such significant involvement in it is a resounding endorsement of our strategy of appointing local distributors in key export markets. As with so many of the export orders we secure, the market knowledge and expertise our local distributor in this case Mena Arabia brought to the table proved absolutely vital in delivering the specification.
Ellis’s Emperor cable cleats are designed for use where the highest levels of short circuit withstand are required.
Emperor cable cleats were specified by Jeddah-based Inma Contracting, and are being installed in load centres (substations) and utility service tunnels throughout KAIA.
Emperor cleats are available for both trefoil and single cable applications, and all products in the range are manufactured in type 316L stainless steel, meaning they provide ultimate corrosion protection. The benefits of the Emperor cleats also extend to a patented design, which makes installation quick and easy, and an integral LSF zero halogen polymeric liner and base pad that protects and cushions cables during short circuit conditions.
Ellis is the only manufacturer in the world to focus solely on cable cleats.
All Ellis products are short circuit and third party tested prior to being brought to market, and are specified and installed around the globe.
