£25.2m Leighton Hospital project utilises UZIN products

  • 2 Mar 2018

Leighton Hospital, part of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT), has recently chosen UZIN to help rebuild a Critical Care and Theatre facility.

MCHFT received £25.2 million in funding for the facility, to help meet the increase in demand for Critical Care and Theatre services over the coming years.

The brief for the rebuild included durable flooring that would be able to withstand heavy footfall and traffic load for the foreseeable future.

UZIN’s support was utilised to help rectify a long standing issue with a failing floor before supplying a suitable system for the new building and many other refurbishment projects. UZIN worked closely with the trust and contractor iFloor to meet all the specific requirements and overcome any challenges of each individual project.

over 15,000m2 of flooring was installed without issue, enabling the MCHFT facility to improve the quality and safety of patient care.

MCHFT has continued to work with UZIN for the subfloor on all further flooring refurbishments, following the success of the project.

Paul Swindells, Senior Capital Project Manager, Estates & Facilities Division at MCHFT commented: “The new flooring has helped breathe new life into the facilities which have been refurbished. The finish and look of the flooring materials are first class and I can testify to their durability.”
