CUPACLAD® slate rainscreen cladding system from CUPA PIZARRAS was recently used to help create an architectural masterpiece at Atlanta’s arts district.
The One Museum Place complex has become an iconic view of the city due to its one-of-a-kind design and its smart combination of three different cladding materials.
For assuring efficiency and durability, the architectural firm Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects opted for the benefits of rainscreen cladding systems while using durable and resistant material.
Therefore, CUPACLAD® slate rainscreen cladding system was chosen to cover most of the buildings’ facades due to its resistance and durability to any type of weather.
Furthermore, the geometry of the buildings also required using three different slate patterns, so some of the slates had to be custom cut.
The architect explains the complexity of this design: “For One Museum Place, the combination of three cladding materials required three trades to coordinate methods, material interfaces, material terminations, etc. Three different slate patterns were used on the project in response to building geometry and desired textures.”
The result of this made to measure project is an architectural masterpiece with a unique and efficient design.
