Sam Gotobed scores BDM role at Kestrel

  • 1 May 2019

Keen footballer Sam Gotobed has netted his dream role, as he becomes Kestrel’s newest business development manager.

The father of one has always wanted to get on the road from being a young boy, following in the footsteps of his dad.

Sam explained: “A lot of my family are involved in construction in one way or another. My dad travelled as an industry rep and as a boy I watched him and thought ‘that’s what I want to do!’

“As soon as I left school I started working in the building products industry and have built up a good knowledge of the industry and a network of contacts over the last 15 years.”

Hailing from Essex, Sam will work across East Anglia and, following an initial training period at Kestrel’s Scunthorpe HQ, he has wasted no time in meeting key distributors in the region.

Sam added: “The customers I’ve met to date have been really welcoming and have a high regard for Kestrel, which has made the first month an absolute pleasure.

“The team in Scunthorpe have helped me understand the products and different stages of the production and shipping. Many of them have been with the company for a long time, which means we have a wealth of expertise behind us.

Kestrel’s sales and marketing director Owen Thorogood said Sam’s decade and a half in construction product sales would stand him in good stead.

Owen commented: “We are delighted that Sam has settled into Kestrel so quickly. He has a wealth of contacts across the industry, is keen to make his mark and will be a real asset to the team.”
