Kestrel raises funds for Motor Neuron Disease with charity golf day

  • 12 Jul 2019

Kestrel regional sales director John Gunn is teeing up a charity golf day to raise funds for a charity which raises awareness and funds research into motor Neuron Disease.

The charity, ‘My Name’s Doddie Foundation’ is headed by Scottish Rugby legend Doddie Weir OBE. Doddie, who earned 61 caps for Scotland, was diagnosed with the incurable disease in 2017.

The golf day at Cameron House Golf Course, Loch Lomond, takes place in September and coincides with the Scottish rugby team’s clash with Ireland in the world cup.

“We’re starting with breakfast and watching the rugby match at 8.45am, then on to the golf,” John explained. “We end with prize giving and an auction, it should be a great day!”

John is expecting a number of rugby clubs to enter and is hoping that for a few roofline distributors and installers may also step up to the tee. To enter a team will cost £400, there will also be opportunities to sponsor tees and greens.
