Closomat, the UK’s leading manufacturer of enabling bathroom/toilet solutions, welcomes revised guidance on the process of delivering home adaptations.
The new framework, in ‘Adaptations Without Delay’, centres around a person-centred outcome, and simplifies the process for all involved- healthcare professional, housing providers, builders, suppliers- and the recipients.
Mark Sadler, Closomat Sales Director comments on the guidance: “We know from practical experience that the new, holistic approach that addresses an appropriate outcome for the client is good. Something as comparatively simple as switching a conventional WC for a wash & dry toilet, for example, is often classed as a major adaptation but is relatively straightforward. The new framework, with its four categories depending on level of alteration to the property, should enable more timely, proportionate solutions.”
Closomat is prepared with a national team of product specialists to provide timely site surveys and advise on equipment solutions. Plus, it has, in house, a fully C(DM) compliant project management capability. Its nationwide network of engineers can install, commission, and- importantly- service & maintain, the company’s range of bathroom/ moving & handling assistive technology. Its latest offering- Palma Life- combines in one package the supply and commissioning of the brand- leading Palma Vita wash & dry toilet with a total 10 years’ service & maintenance.
“It is an aim of the new framework to utilise resources available that relieve the pressure on Occupational Therapists,” adds Mark. “Closomat is already positioned to work alongside, with easy access to the resources to help reduce delays in adaptations, to expediate solutions that solve a person’s problems, and enable them to live independently with little or no care intervention.”
