Business development appointment strengthens CMS Trade team

  • 6 Sep 2019

Scotland’s fast-growing trade window and door manufacturer CMS Trade has welcomed Calum Todd to its team, in the role of Business Development.

This will support the company’s expanding customer base and build new connections with installers across the country.

Calum brings a wealth of sales and business development experience to the position at CMS Trade, which operates from a purpose-designed 25,000 square foot factory in East Kilbride, including a role with another key fenestration business in the Scottish market.

He will be the main point of contact for installers to access the full CMS Trade range of custom-made PVCu windows and doors, with options available to suit every type of project, from both Eurocell and REHAU systems in numerous colour options, four of which are standard.

Launched earlier this year, in response to a growing demand from trade customers, CMS Trade is a specialist division of CMS Window Systems, the Cumbernauld-based window, door and curtain walling manufacturer and installer, which has grown to become a £39m turnover business, with in excess of 300 staff in just 13 years.

By establishing CMS Trade as a dedicated business, with its own state-of-the-art factory and a product range ideally suited to the trade sector, it is aiming to quickly become the supplier of choice for Scottish installers.

It is one of the only trade manufacturers of its kind to offer a free recycling service for installers, which takes back their old, post-use windows or doors – timber, aluminium or PVCu – when they collect new orders.

These are then separated in-house by CMS into seven different waste streams avoiding landfill, with each stream sent for reprocessing by specialists, saving installers hundreds of pounds every year on waste disposal costs.

Calum commented: “I’m delighted to be joining the CMS Trade team and looking forward to helping to grow the business with the same success and intensity that has characterised CMS Window Systems as a whole.

“With reliable service and product quality being two of the most important factors to installers, we have a clear focus on how to best serve the needs of our customers, whilst offering our free recycling service and the unrivalled technical and product expertise you’d expect from a market-leading business.

“I look forward to visiting as many of our customers as possible across Scotland over the coming weeks, but our door is always open at 6 Colvilles Place in East Kilbride (G75 0PZ).

“Anyone looking to see for themselves why we are different is very welcome to come and take a look around our factory and meet me and the team whenever they are nearby.”
