Newfoundland Quay boosts site safety with 100 Bull Cygnus alarms

  • 9 Sep 2019

Bull Products, manufacturer of life-saving fire protection equipment, has supplied over 100 of its Cygnus wireless alarm systems to one of the tallest buildings in London – Newfoundland Quay.

Newfoundland Quay currently stands at 220 metres and, once complete, it will feature in excess of 600 private rented apartments, retail space and residential amenities.

Sub-contractor, Wingate Electrical, has previously invested in the Cygnus alarm system during the construction of One Blackfriars.

Therefore, Wingate was able to repurpose some of the alarm units, thus providing a cost-effective and flexible solution.

Spanning across 60 floors, a total of 100 Cygnus units and several control panels have been installed on site to protect the whole building.

Bradley Markham, director at Bull Products, commented: “Due to the innovation of our alarm system, it can be moved from site-to-site as projects finish, providing a viable investment for big construction sites that are under increasing pressure to cut costs.

“We are proud to be protecting some of the biggest residential developments in London and growing our presence further in the market.”

This year, the Cygnus alarm system has been protecting some of London’s most prestigious and exciting developments, including No.1 Palace Street, 22 Bishopsgate, Woodwharf and Paddington Waterside Regeneration.

Thanks to the system’s flexibility and long-distance connection, the alarm system can grow as construction sites develop, making it the ideal alarm to protect large construction projects from start date right through to completion.
