Crown Trade’s Clean Extreme range features throughout a new school building, providing a colourful and long-lasting paint finish.

Stoneham Park Primary Academy is a brand new school in Eastleigh, with its first class of five-year-old pupils beginning in September 2020.

Morgan Sindall’s construction the building has sustainability firmly to the forefront.

Specifying products from Crown Trade’s Clean Extreme range for the school’s paintwork will help reduce future maintenance cycles and save resources.

KAR Painting Contractors’ painting of the school Crown Trade products – Crown Trade’s Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt applied on all the main broad wall areas.

With a Class 1 rating on the ISO 11998 test for wet scrub resistance of dry paint film, Crown Trade’s Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt has an impressive durability level of 10,000 scrubs.

This means you can repeatedly scrub walls clean multiple times, with no detrimental impact on the paint finish, while the extra benefit of stain resistance ensures common stains, including pens, coffee and food stains are easy to wash off, with just soap and water.

Crown helping to meet guidelines

The paintwork at the school will therefore retain its fresh appeal for longer. Clean Extreme is an ideal way to help schools like Stoneham Park meet COVID-secure guidelines, which include more intensive cleaning regimes, thanks to its ability to withstand regular and rigorous cleaning.

In the toilets and wetroom areas, Crown Trade’s Clean Extreme Anti-Bacterial Scrubbable Matt provides extra protection from bacteria.

Utilising the natural protection of silver ion technology, it not only inhibits the growth of any bacteria that comes into contact with the surface of the paint film, but also prevents bacteria from multiplying.

As a result, the anti-bacterial protection on the surface of the paint film is impossible to wash off, no matter how many times you scrub the surface clean.

The school aims to create an inspirational learning environment, through the appropriate use of colour – as the Clean Extreme range can be matched to any specific RAL shade, it offers exceptional design flexibility.

The interior design team from Hampshire County Council, which manages the school, were behind the fresh and clean colour scheme in the school.

Pure white (RAL 9010) maximises the sense of light and space, with different colours creating colourful feature walls in each classroom, as well as in the corridors, stairwells and staff room, to make the space fun and bright.

Completing the project, Crown’s Acrylic Eggshell features on the woodwork throughout the school, while Covermatt is on the ceilings.
