Hush Acoustics’ range of sound insulation systems provides an effective noise reduction solution for all the most widely used approaches to constructing concrete or masonry separating floors.
With nine fully tested systems available, architects and contractors can apply the solution that best fits their project requirements and easily meet the acoustic performance standards they seek for concrete slab, beam and block and screeded floors.
All systems are fully compliant with the Building Regulations covering all nations of the UK – Approved Document E in England and Wales, Section 5 in Scotland and Northern Ireland’s Part G.
Each system utilises a carefully selected combination of Hush Acoustics’ insulation products including its rubber-based materials. These work together to effectively address the problem of impact noise on concrete and masonry floors, as well as providing additional airborne sound reduction.
Being a UK manufacturer of acoustic products, Hush is in an ideal place to understand the performance characteristics and compatibility of individual materials and apply these in the correct ways to minimise sound transmission paths, including troublesome flanking noise.
Amongst the high quality products used within its acoustic systems are its under and over screed acoustic membranes and Hush-Mat 15. This 15mm mat is made from a uniquely engineered acoustic rubber offering high levels of mass to contribute to airborne sound reduction as well as impact sound – not normally the case with acoustic flooring products of this kind.
From the HD1018 overlay system, which is suitable for treating a concrete slab in-situ, to the HD1042 under screed system, all the Hush systems are designed to be economical and suitable for refurbishment, conversion and new build projects.
Full technical and installation guidance is available, along with specialist support to develop bespoke solutions or address more complex issues with concrete, masonry or timber floor constructions.
