Siderise achieves Gold at Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Awards

  • 14 Jul 2021

Siderise has been recognised with a Gold Award at Mind’s fifth annual Workplace Wellbeing Awards. Ranking 21st out of the 114 organisations who took part, this award means it has successfully embedded mental health into its policies and practices.

This is also recognition of its demonstration to a long-term, in-depth commitment to staff mental health.

Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Index is a benchmark of best policy and practice, celebrating the good work employers are doing to promote and support positive mental health, and providing key recommendations on the specific areas where there is room to improve.

Every employer depends on having healthy and productive employees – valued and supported staff are far more likely to perform better and achieve peak performance.

Mental health problems are common among employees. Mind surveyed more than 42,000 employees across the 114 employers participating in the Index. This also included an additional section on the impact of COVID-19.

Siderise is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of its staff at all levels of the company. This is done through a variety of company policies and initiatives— including a Stress Policy, Flexible Working Policy and those covering workplace grievances— as well as a general company-wide understanding on the importance of good mental health and wellbeing and supportive culture.

‘Talent and hard work’

Adam Turk, CEO at Siderise Insulation, comments: “We are thrilled to have gained this recognition from Mind, but mostly we are happy to see that our staff feel positively about their workplace and the support they receive.

“Without their talent and hard work, we wouldn’t be the global business we are today. Of course, taking part in the Index was not just about seeing what we have done well, but seeing where we can improve.

“We are reviewing the suggestions highlighted by Mind and our staff and to ensure we are continually working to make Siderise a happy, successful business to work for.”

‘Significant challenges’

Emma Mamo, Head of Workplace Wellbeing at Mind, adds: “It inspires me to see how all the organisations participating in the Index are taking positive steps to support the mental health of their employees.

“In the last year, the Coronavirus pandemic has affected all our lives; the way we work has fundamentally changed, whether that is working on the frontline or working at home.

“Employers therefore faced, and continue to face, significant challenges in effectively supporting the wellbeing of their people in this new and uncertain context.

“That’s why, this year more than ever, we were delighted to celebrate the employers making mental health a priority for their organisation through our Workplace Wellbeing Awards.”
