Senior’s Aluminium Day – coming soon to a screen near you!

  • 10 Jan 2022

Now in its fourth year, Senior Architectural Systems will be once again celebrating all things aluminium as part of its annual #AluminiumDay event.

Taking place on the 13 March 2022, the leading aluminium fenestration systems supplier will be once again dedicating its social media channels to raising awareness of the benefits and different uses of aluminium. This year, there’s a special plot twist!

Proving aluminium really is one of the most adaptable materials around, the theme for the next event will be ‘aluminium at the movies’, with Senior sharing some fun facts and trivia about the metal’s different film ‘roles’, as well as showcasing the company’s own installations at various cinemas and entertainment venues across the UK.

In the run up to the event, Senior will be running a special #AlumininumDay giveaway, with the chance to win cinema vouchers. More information on how to enter the competition will be available on Senior’s website and social media channels.

As always, the day will also provide the chance for all those who work with aluminium to celebrate their own products and work across the construction sector and beyond. Contributions from companies and individuals are welcome and you can join in the conversation by simply posting using the #AluminiumDay hashtag.

‘A little fun!’

Mark Wadsworth, managing director or Senior Architectural Systems, comments: “We’re proud of our #AluminiumDay and as the 2022 event falls on a weekend, we thought we would have a little fun!

“As a manufacturer who’s been working with aluminium to create doors, windows and curtain wall systems for over 30 years, there’s not much we don’t know about aluminium but even we were a little surprised to learn that James Bond’s famous DB5 Aston Martin featured an all-aluminium six-cylinder engine!

“We were inspired to take a closer look at aluminium’s role on the silver screen and we hope that lots of other aluminium fans and movie buffs will join in on the day to help raise awareness of this truly versatile material, and hopefully also a few smiles along the way.”

Launched in 2019, #AluminiumDay sets out to raise awareness of the versatility of the metal, from its popularity as a building material and use within the food manufacturing industry to its role in transport and aerospace design, as well as celebrating the success and skills of those who work with the material. The date itself, the 13th day of the third month, gives a nod to how aluminium is the third most abundant metal in the world and its atomic number is 13.

Look out for the Aluminium Day content on Sunday 13 March  2022 across Senior’s TwitterLinkedInFacebook and Instagram.

You can join the conversation using the #AluminiumDay hashtag.
