Newtown Primary School has been given an exterior makeover to freshen up its student areas using Crown Paints as part of the local council’s schools’ decoration programme.
The Hampshire school, based in Gosport, caters for 370 students, aged between four and 11.
The work, tendered by Hampshire County Council’s Property Services, was carried out by Trident Maintenance Services who chose Crown Paints, which met the standard specified by the Council.
With design and colour having a hugely positive impact on educational surroundings, it’s important for students to have the right environment to boost learning, Crown Paints said.
The school’s original timber tongued and grooved cladding was finished in a gloomy dark brown colour and had become worn and faded.
To freshen up the school and its student areas, the job required use of a durable paint product with good covering properties over dark brown, which would give longevity to the redecoration.
Trident Maintenance Services chose to use Crown Paints’ Sadolin Superdec opaque wood protection paint for the project, which has a wide range of colour options and long-lasting finish, promising to last for at least ten years.
Crown Paints said they were delighted to provide the 220 litres of paint for the Newton Primary School Project, which took three weeks to finish.
Joanne Thomas, specification sales manager at Crown Paints, says: “Design and colour can have a huge positive impact on an educational setting, so it’s important that students have the right environment to encourage learning, creativity, and play.
“That’s why we were so pleased to have been successful in supplying appropriate paints for this and similar projects– Crown products will provide a durable solution that will last for years to come.”
