Book Newton’s Updated Type C RIBA CPD To The 2022 British Standard

  • 30 Aug 2022

Newton Waterproofing Systems believe that your professional development is an ongoing process. As the leading independent UK supplier of waterproofing systems, the company is here to help you take the next step.

On 31 March 2022, the new British Standard for waterproofing was released, providing everyone with access to the updated version of BS 8102:2022. The newly titled Standard is the Code of Practice for the ‘Protection of Below Ground Structures Against Water Ingress’ and includes a wide number of revisions and updates to the 2009 version.

In order to continue educating construction professionals, we are updating our popular range of RIBA approved CPD seminars to be compliant with the new Standard. This includes our popular Type C CPD on cavity drain waterproofing: ‘A Designer’s Guide to Type C Waterproofing to the New British Standard 8102:2022’.

The updated CPD consists of a 45-minute seminar plus Q&A, which can be delivered either at your office, as an online webinar, or at our dedicated training facility in Tonbridge, Kent.

As well as an explanation of the updates to the new 2022 version of the British Standard, the presentation provides an overview of the modern methods available for protecting below ground structures from water, including:

 – The evolution of Type C from modular through to perimeter drainage systems
 – Using insulation as a spacer, while offering consideration to compression loading
 – A discussion of compartmental design for fire protection
 – The types of ‘Systems’ available and ‘Levels’ of waterproofing protection
 – Managing water ingress with a cavity drain system
 – The benefits and importance of a professional installation

Louise Duval, of HollandGreen Architecture & Interiors, says: “Everyone in the office found Newton’s CPD presentation incredibly informative and enlightening, helped by the fact that it was delivered by an expert speaker who engaged with the audience.

“Having the added benefit of a Newton Specialist Contractor present also gave a new dimension to the CPD, providing our staff with a welcome insight into the challenges of waterproofing installation on site.”

Newton’s technical experts frequently deliver its four RIBA Approved, double points CPDs to architects, engineers, and construction professionals across the country.
