Eligible, non-ISO 50001 compliant organisations must carry out an ESOS assessment consisting of:

3) Appointing a lead assessor.

4) Notifying the Environment Agency.

5) And keeping records.

An ESOS-compliant energy audit must: be based on 12 months’ verifiable data; analyse the organisation’s energy consumption and efficiency; identify energy-saving opportunities; use energy consumption profiles; and be reviewed by an ESOS Lead Assessor.

The Environment Agency announced in September 2024 that it will be testing the Action Plan submission part of the ESOS portal during the first two weeks of October 2024. The Phase 4 Action Plan submission date remains as 5th December 2024.

The Tinytag Energy Logger measures voltage (V) and current (AC), using this data to calculate an overall power figure (kW) and power factor. Used for spot checks and long-term recording, the Energy Logger monitors single and three-phase power supplies from the standard mains lead (to monitor voltage) and non-invasive flexible Rogowski coils (available in three sizes, to monitor current).
