The association representing the metal facades and roofing supply chain, the MCRMA, has announced the winners of its 2025 awards.

Presented at the association’s recent two-day Technical Conference in Telford, the six awards recognise and celebrate those individuals within its membership who have gone the extra mile to promote excellence in metal envelope systems, and support the industry to thrive.

The first award for Excellence in Engagement was awarded to Stephen Hall of Hadley Group. He received this in recognition of how he has excelled in connecting with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and encouraging knowledge sharing across the sector.

The Services to the Industry award was presented to Colin Yeates of CY Associates (Shire). He received this distinguished award in recognition of the lasting and meaningful impact he has made on the industry, including through leadership, raising standards that enhance best practice and strengthening the sector’s development.

Another highly experienced individual to be formally recognised was independent inspector Barry Jackson of BJ Associates. He was honoured for his exceptional dedication and commitment to the metal cladding and roofing sector over many years by being presented with the MCRMA Long Service Award.

The association also recognises members who dedicate time and resources to supporting its efforts to publicise best practice in the sector and inspire future construction projects by promoting the use of metal building envelope solutions. This year, the award for Marketing & Communication was given to David Luukas of Building Systems UK (a Tata Steel enterprise).

The final two awards recognised the great work of two individuals at opposite ends of their career. The award for Next Generation is designed to celebrate the talent of individuals at the earlier stages of their career, particularly those who are making a notable impact and helping to shape the sector’s future. The 2025 award was presented to Sam Hopton, Head of Technical at Firth Steels.

Lastly, the Cliff Dyer (Chair’s) Award was presented to Andrew Dunne, Managing Director of Architectural Profiles (APL). This special award is given to a member who the Chair believes has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication and influence within the sector.

Adrian Whitefoot, the recently appointed Chair of the MCRMA, who presented the awards, comments: “Congratulations to all this year’s award winners, all of whom fully deserve to receive their accolade. The MCRMA’s membership includes many of the industry’s most respected professionals in their fields, so to win an award voted by members is an exceptional achievement.”

The winners received their awards at a special awards dinner evening as part of the two-day MCRMA 2025 Technical Conference, sponsored by Firth Steels, Fixing Point, Hambleside Danelaw and Steadmans. The awards are voted on by MCRMA members from a shortlist of nominations, with the exception of the Cliff Dyer Award, which is a special award presented by the association Chair.
