Maxwood has designed, manufactured and installed a series of gold and black washrooms for the renovated Broadgate Quarter, which is situated in the centre of London.
Working on behalf of Hines, ISG undertook a renovation project in the centre of London. The development saw the transformation of Broadgate Quarter, which has been remodelled to accommodate office space for Helix Property Advisors.
Maxwood was contracted to design, manufacture and install the washrooms for the facility – the end result boasts a gold and black colour scheme, featuring laminated glass with a metal effect.
The glass has been inlaid with a ‘gold’ coated fabric mesh to provide a shimmering finish that alters with the change of lighting and angle of view.
Maxwood fitted a number of male and female sanitary facilities on each of Broadgate Quarter’s reconfigured floors; this included the basement area, which was kitted out with lockers and benching for the benefit of staff that cycle to work.
The majority of the washrooms incorporated Maxwood’s Maranté cubicle systems, with High Pressure Laminate (HPL) full-height doors and pilasters. They were finished in a Jet Black Gloss.
Faced with Swisslamex ‘gold’ glass, Maxwall panels were used to contrast the dark finish. Tailored for individual installations, Maxwall duct panelling systems can be used to conceal plumbing ducts to toilet cubicles, urinals and vanity units.
They are delivered to site in ready-assembled, pre-laminated modular frames; they can then be fitted within stud-wall cavities, or surface mounted with a box frame unit.
To complete the washrooms, Maxwood supplied its gas-strut hinged Vanity Mirror Units, which have been designed to allow for quick access to paper towel and soap dispensers, and a number of trough-style vanity tops from its Xeista range.
Manufactured in Glacier White Corian, the sanitaryware was selected to introduce some white into the metallic and black washrooms.
In the building’s basement-based washroom and changing facilities, Maxwood installed two ‘superloos’, with a toilet pan and washbasin for use by both males and females.
The facilities were styled to complement Broadgate Quarter’s main washrooms, boasting similar colours and materials.
The lockers, which were custom-made from Maxwood’s Ocean range, were finished with American White Ash slats to match the benching.
