New whitepaper outlines construction industry obstacles and solutions

  • 26 Aug 2015

A number of construction industry leaders met at Kaleida’s office to discuss the topics affecting the market.

The discussion resulted in the production of a whitepaper, which has been designed to highlight the challenges facing the sector.

Entitled ‘Does the Construction Industry need a change in mindset before there can be a change in practice?’, the whitepaper identifies barriers to innovation.

It also proposes solutions which call for a change at the top and bottom of the industry.

A change in mindset

It is important that the current position of the construction industry – which is key to Britain’s economic growth – is understood.

Construction 2025, Digital Built Britain and other Government-led strategies cannot be achieved until there is a change in mindset towards innovation and collaboration.

The attendees to Kaleida’s meeting have suggested an approach where innovation is driven and managed from the top down, whilst skills are built from the bottom up.
