The Monitoring and Control team offers a range of both structural and non-structural services for applications, including; environmental monitoring, equipment calibration and product testing.
The newly-formed team consists of experienced Geodetic, Geotechnic, Electronic Engineers, Civil/Structural Engineers and Hydraulic specialsts, providing access to a broad skill base which aims to support clients with efficient monitoring and measurement solutions.
As part of the service, clients have the flexibility to define their own level of involvement – from ‘hire-only’ through to fully-managed monitoring solutions.
An example of the new technologies that have been developed by the team is its Instrumentation Management System (IMS), which combines Geodetic and Geotechnic monitoring with propping and jacking systems for complete structural intelligence. The system can perform self-checks on data and comparative data to evaluate the quality of the source feeds.
The IMS can be accessed via a dedicated website – LiveSite – which provides a full graphical user interface for all aspects of the project, allowing almost unlimited manipulation of data. High and low frequency solutions have been designed to be plug and play’ and upload to the Mabey Hire Instrumentation data website upon activation.
Below is a full list of solutions offered by the Mabey Hire Monitoring and Control team:
Mabey Hire has incorporated these systems on Highways Agency and Network Rail projects, including the Canning Town Flyover. The Mabey Hire Monitoring & Control team will be showcasing their capabilities at the Railtex exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham on 12th to 14th May 2015, and can be found at stand V91.
