In order to meet the UKs housing needs, we need to deliver in excess of 250,000 new homes per annum

My favourite comment after the clear Tory majority win in the UK General Election last week was: No more Balls from Labour – and no Scottish Nanny putting us all on the naughty step. I couldnt possibly comment, but I do believe it was a good result for the construction industry. Ive listed below just some of the Government pledges that will help promote UK construction.

However, we still face a number of key challenges, not least how to solve the current housing shortfall. Despite housebuilders having the best results since 2007 (40k homes were registered in Q1, up 18% on 2014, says NHBC), PSB Magazine explains why a single strategy wont be enough to solve the issue.

Under MEPS, it will become illegal for landlords to rent out properties that have energy efficiency ratings of F or G.

Government pledges that will promote UK construction
