This seminar stream will explore the development of BIM plus address how augmented reality and 3D printing is shaping how architects, engineers and their clients are working with the latest technologies to develop new systems and solutions for the built environment.
Vision London includes a large scale exhibition, 100 free-to-attend sessions for Future Materials, Innovation in Architecture & Design and Building Health & Wellness. As well as a series of practical case studies and talks.
Covering all aspects about how 3D printing is affecting architecture and design, and what this means for the built environment. The sessions will look at the use of 3D printing in model making as well as how the technology is being used to test out new concepts and ideas.
The computer allied to manufacturing and fabrication technology has opened up new ways for the designer to engage with the act of building. 3D design software is now commonplace. We have moved beyond the rapid prototype and we can now print components directly. Robots can construct building components at full scale. A new level of complexity is now possible, allowing visualisation, customisation and efficiency to be embraced in the same software package. Contributors will examine new forms made possible through these technologies in architecture, structures, sculpture and building components. Chairman & Slipstream: Making Complex Frozen Dynamic Art Mr Tim Lucas, Partner, Price and Myers
A series of case studies from leading software suppliers and manufacturers highlights the benefits of using BIM across the construction, architecture and design sectors. Chairman: Mr Steve Race, Lecturer, Middlesex University
