Homeowners could save between 14,000 and 16,000 in running costs every year
Standard wired security doors incorporate a magnetic lock and reader that are powered by electricity via a mains connection, although Aperio wireless locks run differently to ensure maximum security.
Running on standard lithium-ion batteries, Aperio wireless locks are activated by a smart card or other user credential and require no mains power in order to fire up.
Due to the fact that the locks use no power when inactive, Aperio only needs a battery replacement every two years and consumes 0.001 kWh of energy on an annual basis, compared to an average of 55.2 kWh on a standard wired lock.
Following an Aperio wireless lock system being installed, a typical 1,000 door student accommodation block would save between 14,000 and 16,000 in running costs every year.
The Aperio wireless lock system allows property owners to reduce bills, cut their carbon footprint and protect a building against rising energy costs.
