Aperio wireless lock technology has been designed to enable locks to function by battery
A lock that includes ASSA ABLOYs Aperio wireless lock technology is powered by lithium battery. Therefore, unlike magnetic locks, they do not need to be connected to the mains.
Because of this, the locks are not being continuously powered throughout periods of inactivity. This allows users to make energy savings and increase their energy efficiency.
The locks can be opened with an RHID access control card.
ASSA ABLOYs Aperio wireless lock technology has been designed to be cost-effective.
The company calculated that by powering locks with batteries rather than with electricity from the mains, a student housing block could save between £12,000 and £13,000 each year.
ASSA ABLOY has developed a case study entitled Energy efficiency – its in your hands! to further explore the cost and energy savings that can be made with battery powered wireless locks.
