The Vortex Pro Kitchen/Utility boiler has front service access to the burner and internal parts

Grant UK’s Solar Thermal system was installed to heat the family’s water

’DIY SOS: The Big Build’ is a television programme presented by Nick Knowles and broadcast on BBC One. The show provides deserving families with build and design renovations.

A recent episode saw the Liversidge family, who suffer from health problems, benefit from Grant UK’s heating systems.

Vortex boiler

Grant UK supplied a Pro Kitchen/Utility boiler from its Vortex range to the programme.

The condensing oil-fired boiler has a stainless steel heat exchanger with a turbulator system.

Its turbulator system allows latent heat to be extracted; by recovering this additional energy, the boiler can operate at higher efficiency levels. This ultimately results in lower heating and hot water running costs.

Solar Thermal system

Grant UK also supplied the BBC show with its Grant Solar Thermal System with the aim of saving the Liversidge family up to 70% on their annual hot water heating costs.

The heating systems were specified with the hope of reducing the family’s oil bills and carbon footprint.
