The University of Aberdeen has benefited from the installation of ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio access control system

The University of Aberdeen’s student village, Hilhead, has recently benefited from a £10 million refurbishment programme.

As part of the project, several accommodation blocks – including Esslemont, Hector Boece and Burnett House – were renovated to include modern facilities.

ASSA ABLOY’s open platform ARX solution was specified to secure the buildings, which have also been made more energy efficient.

The buildings’ doors were fitted with Aperio online access control units, which have been designed to secure, monitor and record required activity.

ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio access control system can integrate with existing access control units, such as ARX, to provide real time audits and instant updates of access restrictions.

The wireless locking solution also allows free egress via the lock handle when required.

The system was supplied to the university on a scalable basis; it can be specified to work with specific budgets and phased work programmes.???????
