At 28,000 square metres, the health facility has 120 rooms that can hold 234 beds.
DuPont Corian’s surfacing material has been used to make over 500 installations in the new build. The company has supplied the hospital with reception desks, examination facilities, baby baths and surfaces for paediatric wards and phlebotomy rooms.
It has also been specified for birth preparation units and clinical care units.
The project’s architect, Verónica Durán Sela, chose Corian for its compliance with regulations that apply in the health care sector.
The chemically resistant material is non-porous, making it easy to disinfect and clean. For this reason, it was deemed valuable for use in a hospital environment.
The installation was carried out by GISPASA, a Spanish public infrastructure company.
