Flexible acrylic stone used for bench and stool set

  • 26 Aug 2015

Recently launched at Milan’s Design Week, OS ? OOS’ new collection offers substitutable surfaces that can be alternated to create different looks, reminiscent of granite.

HI-MACS can be bent and shaped into any structure

The products were showcased at the Wallpaper Handmade space during the Milan Salone de Mobile, with a range of different configurations and finishes on display.

The Arc bench and stools are comprised of two common radii, with interchangeable pieces offering different design opportunities.

As a self-supporting element, arcs are both stable and slender; the products boast a simple and stylish aesthetic.

The range was created with HI-MACS.

Thermoformable acrylic stone

As naturally formed stone is not flexible, the only way to make a shape out of it is by cutting pieces away. HI-MACS has been developed to allow designers to achieve the same visual result with the same properties.

The thermoformable acrylic stone can be bent when warm, in order to create curved shapes.

This means that the material can be used to build structures that cannot be created with natural stone.
