Initially introduced to provide a framework for collaborative business relationships, BS 11000 encourages companies to develop interactions with other organisations.
It places an emphasis on maximising the benefits for all parties involved.
Having constantly worked to encourage collaborative working with its supply chain, Prater believes that the BS 11000 standard reflects its well-established ethos.
Prater’s interaction with its supply chain partners was assessed, both down stream and upstream.
The detailed auditing period found that collaborative working was a consistent feature of Prater’s existing business model.
There was enough evidence of key relationships that established clear expectations of all parties resulting in productive processes to certify Prater to BS 11000.
The certification process has enabled the company to formalise its procedures; achieving the standard has also allowed Prater to demonstrate its commitment to collaborative working to its clients and partners.
