Single ply membrane fixed to new nursery roof

  • 3 Feb 2015

Protan SE 1.6mm single ply membrane has been designed to provide protection against harsh weather conditions

The building’s curved, monopitch roof areas have been mechanically fixed with Protan SE 1.6mm single ply membrane, which has been supplied in a ‘maritime grey’ shade to sympathise with the stainless steel and aluminium structure of the building.

Protan SE is certified to ? -30°, meaning it is able to withstand harsh weather conditions and protect buildings from the elements.

For this reason, it was specified for the nursery and fitted over the building’s existing OSB and Protan VB250 vapour control layer by John Robinson Building Contractors.

The single ply membrane is mechanically fixed to the roof to control and minimise air leakage in compliance with latest Building Regulations.

The membrane, which has achieved an A rating under the Green Guide, has been designed to deliver the energy efficiency requirements which have been established in Approved Document L.
