The video offers companies advice on how to improve their energy efficiency to cut down costs and comply with building regulations.
To minimise its energy usage, Mitsubishi Electric has made a series of upgrades over a period of eight years.
This has included the replacement of its outdated cooling system with a VRF air conditioning system and the addition of a heat pump air curtain over its entrance to ensure wastage was kept to a minimum.
Gas was removed from the building entirely; a heat pump boiler was added to the air conditioning instead, using rejected energy to supply hot water.
Photovoltaic solar panels were also added to the building’s large, open roof space to generate electricity, which allowed the company to supplement its electricity use and sell excess energy on to the grid.
In addition, Mitsubishi Electric has upgraded its lifts, hand dryers and lighting to more modern, energy efficient products.
