The Decorating Allowance Scheme was developed to give social housing residents the opportunity to decorate their homes to their tastes.
After applying for the scheme, residents will receive a monetary voucher or decorating pack.
Both of these available options provide residents with the materials that they need to re-decorate their homes.
The scheme has been designed to be convenient: it gives residents the opportunity to have the products delivered to their home if they are unable to visit their local Johnstone’s Decorating Centre.
They can specify the speed of the delivery to suit their needs.
The scheme also allows residents to choose between different materials and colours to suit their requirements.
Public sector bodies, such as Warwick District Council, which has been using the scheme for over 12 months, are in charge of overseeing the scheme.
An automated system has been developed to help them do so, which allows for ease of use.
In addition to the automated system, Warwick District Council has commended the staff in its local Johnstone’s Decorating Centre and the free delivery service that the scheme offers.
