Derby County claimed the prestigious National Johnstone’s Award at the event, held on April 19th, which recognised the achievements of the Derby County Community Trust.

Over six hundred guests from clubs, sponsors and the football industry were in attendance at The Brewery in London.

The Sky Bet Championship club secured the prestigious award thanks to the efforts of its community programme in engaging people, raising hopes and aspirations and improving the lives of the people in Derbyshire.

In 2014 the scheme ran 50 projects.

ñEveryone involved in the Derby Country Community Trust are so proud to win this award,î commented Simon Carnall, head of Derby County Community Trust, upon recieving the reward.

ñDerby is a football city and when the team are doing well, the city is doing well so it really helps us with what we’re doing at the trust.î
