Coatings brand selected for Fusion21 framework

  • 30 Apr 2015

Frameworks are a pre-completed route to market which provide a vehicle to centralise procurement spend.

Fusion21 evaluated a number of manufacturers’ products before selecting Johnstone’s Trade.

Using frameworks enable Fusion21 members – which include a range of registered social landlords, local authorities and NHS bodies – to avoid the high cost and time constraints of running their own procurement exercises.

Fusion21 representatives visited Johnstone’s facility in Birstall to evaluate the brands manufacturing processes and R&D capabilities.

Johnstone’s products were assessed on product consistency, quality and availability across its network of decorating centres.

Community support

Johnstone’s community support programmes were also a deciding factor for the award-winning social enterprise.

Jonstone’s Trade regularly support family fun days and contractor DIY taster sessions, while Fusion21 have created more than 1300 jobs and contributed benefits valued at £30 million to local communities.

“We are delighted to be entering this partnership with Fusion21, who have a rich history in framework programmes,” commented Garth Jones of Johnstone’s Trade.

“Fusion21’s members will have access to quality, high performance coatings solutions as well as being able to take advantage of our outstanding service levels and commitment to supporting the communities in which we operate.”

Fusion21 is a social enterprise which promotes public procurement as a means to save money and create social outcomes, by helping clients to create employment and training opportunities.
