Hawthorne Court can accommodate up to 18 patients and provides rehabilitation for people experiencing severe and enduring mental illness. The centre provides a range of therapy rooms, including an arts and crafts room as well as patient bedrooms, communal dining, living room areas and a secure garden space.
Feature walls in green and blue were complemented by neutral shades creating a calming environment.
Johnstone’s Trade products were specified for use throughout the interior of the new centre by the development team at Humber NHS Foundation Trust, with Novus Property Solutions’ York office carrying out the works.
As with any healthcare facility, limiting the spread of infection is vitally important and was a key consideration at every stage of this project.
Johnstone’s Microbarr Anti-Bacterial Acrylic Eggshell, which is formulated using Silver Ion technology and proven to inhibit the spread of MRSA and E-Coli across the paint surface, was a suitable choice for the clinic and treatment wall areas to create a healthy environment for patients.
For extra durability, Johnstone’s Endura Super Durable Matt was specified throughout the main areas of the facility. Tested to over 10,000 scrubs, Johnstone’s Endura Super Durable Matt is highly scrubbable and can withstand the pressures of a busy healthcare centre.
In addition, Johnstone’s extensive colour palette helped to create a calming colour scheme. Feature walls in green and blue were complemented by neutral shades creating a calming environment for patients and staff alike and to help aid recovery.
