This summer, work began to construct a new block for Sir William Perkins’s School.
The new space will accommodate a drama studio, an atrium café and a Sixth Form area for its students; it will also create a careers area and several new music practice rooms.
The school, which is located in Chertsey, Surrey, enrols approximately 600 pupils, aged from eleven to eighteen.
As in all educational construction projects, the safety of the students was an important consideration; a fire protection system was essential.
Tyco is currently responsible for managing the school’s existing fire and detection systems.
When informed of the upcoming project, the company arranged a product demonstration of its ZETTLE PROFILE fire detection and alarm control system.
Based on the latest generation of digital fire detection technology, the ZETTLER PROFILE has been developed to provide fire safety protection whilst reducing false alarms.
Backwards compatible, the new panel can interface with older Minerva MZX panels, making it easy to upgrade existing systems. This saves both time and installation costs.
The system incorporates a large touchscreen, which can be used to manage and program the fire detection system as a whole, whilst adding to the aesthetic appeal of the panel.
