Developed to work on smartphones as well as desktops, Kingspan’s new online U-value calculator is accessible to installers whether they are out and about, at home or at work.
The new tool, which is free to use, includes 6,000 calculations for walls, floors and both pitched and flat roofs.
All of the featured U-values have been pre-calculated by a member of Kingspan’s experienced Technical Services Department to ensure that only accurate results are generated.
The calculations have also been approved under the ‘BBA/TIMSA Scheme for Calculation Competency Part 1’, meaning users can be confident that they are being supplied with a suitable calculation for their project.
After entering the site, users will be asked a number of quick questions about their specification.
Once the questions have been answered, the calculator will produce a U-value, along with a recommended insulation solution and thickness.
The site also allows users to alter the U-value and the thickness of insulation if the tool’s computer generated solution does not quite meet their requirements.
Users can then opt to have the calculation emailed to them in a printable PDF format.
