Cembrit’s PB Flex building board is suitable for use on curved walls and ceilings
Cembrit will be exhibiting its products and services on Stand F125 at the National Homebuilding and Renovating Show.
Its range of fibre cement and natural roof slates will be on display along with its Cembonit cladding board and Cemwood weather board.
The company is also encouraging self-builders who are visiting the show to bring sketches and blueprints to its stand.
There, it will be demonstrating its new design software which has been designed to show self-builders how a slate roof would appear on their property.
The software is able to calculate information about the quantities they would need to provide them with accurate estimates.
Cembrit PB building boards
Cembrit will also be exhibiting its ranges of PB building boards at the National Homebuilding and Renovating Show.
Its newest building board, the Cembrit PB Flex has been developed for use on curved walls, arches and vaulted ceilings.
It has been designed as a versatile board that can curve to 90°.
It has a minimum radius of 150mm and allows for rendering onto curved surfaces with the ability to fit around structures such as columns and beams.
Cembrit’s heavier and wider PB board has been designed for insulated render systems. It is cement based with a low water absorbency, making it dimensionally stable.
The PB board will not react to changes in temperature or moisture, keeping its structure rather than expanding and contracting with heat and cold.
Furthermore, the board will not respond to moisture by swelling or shrinking.
These features ensure that the product will prevent surface cracking in the render finish. Because of this, it is suitable for use as a renderbacker.
Both Cembrit’s PB boards and its PB Flex boards contain polystyrene beading, making them lighter than stone, concrete and block.
They are also strengthened with nylon mesh and feature a tapered edge which allows for invisible fixing.
