Fibre-cement cladding specified for contemporary summer house

  • 30 Jul 2015

Designed and built by homeowners Effie and Peter Antoniou, the house comprises a double layer of brick, built up with thermalite blocks and a timber frame roof.

Its structure is built upon a steel re-enforced concrete floating base.

Fibre cement weatherboard

Over 40m² of Cembrit Cemwood cladding was installed in light green, to achieve a contemporary look which complements the dark grey of the building’s bi-fold doors and windows.

The cladding blends in with the garden setting.

Cembrit fibre-cement roof tiles were also used to provide durability whilst being lightweight and simple to install.Cemwood cladding was selected for the modern appeal of the finish.

Long lasting solution

Cemwood is designed to combine the aesthetic appeal of wood with the durability of fibre-cement.

The wood-effect weatherboard is fire, rot and insect resistant; it is also unaffected by heat and sunlight.

The boards can be supplied in grey for on-site painting or staining, or pre-coated in a large selection of coloured finishes with a guaranteed colour stability for up to 10 years.
