With 4 floors, 5 bedrooms and almost 700 square metres of space, it’s hard to believe that a luxury home in Surrey could be heated by one air source, air/water outdoor unit.
The arts and crafts style property has underfloor heating throughout.
Each bedroom has an ensuite, which is heated by wall to floor towel rails and fitted with a large power shower that requires a high volume of water.
Originally, a Daikin Altherma low temperature split system was specified for the domestic hot water and central heating.
However, as distributors of Daikin’s entire Altherma range, Space Air changed the design of the system to one Daikin Altherma 39kW Flex outdoor units.
The Flex unit connects to the underfloor heating via 2 hydrobox indoor units; it is also linked to 2 x 300l dhw storage tank.
The singular unit has a smaller footprint than that of the 3 split units that were initially specified.
By using a renewable heat source such as ambient air, the Flex is capable of efficiently heating water up to 75°C via a cascade refrigerant cycle.
It has been commended for its offering of reduced carbon emissions and lower energy bills.
