High-specification curtain wall and window systems installed at art college

Built in the 1970s as a teaching facility for students, the Hunter Building accommodates activities such as art and design, silver smithing and jewellery and printed textiles.

The systems from Senior, which were installed by Gardiner Window Services, helped to improve the building’s thermal performance by replacing its original single glazed timber windows.

The SMR900 system was installed on one elevation of the building, allowing it access to natural light. As a stick system, which is pressure equalised and offers a 50mm sightline, it is capable of being fabricated into ladders to enable quick installation on site.

The SPW600e window systems, which were fitted across four levels of the building, have three chambers manufactured from 75mm polyamide aluminium.

Senior’s systems are framed with aluminium that is completely recyclable.
