Glazing and curtain walling systems for police headquarters

  • 18 Mar 2015

South Yorkshire Police’s headquarters was fitted with glazing and curtain walling systems from Senior

Hybrid curtain walling systems

Alusec UK, the company working on the refurbishment project, installed Senior’s Hybrid series 3 curtain walling systems to replace the existing curtain walling systems.

The remaining parts of the original system were integrated with Senior’s systems to bring it up to date.

Internally, the systems are manufactured with aesthetically pleasing timber.

Externally, aluminium has been used to provide protection against harsh weather conditions.

The Hybrid system has been developed with sustainability in mind: it can be recycled and helps to conserve energy.

It helps to cut carbon and costs by providing access to natural lighting and improving the thermal performance of buildings.

As an eco-friendly system, the Hybrid compliments the new environmental properties of the refurbished police headquarters, which has a waste recycling system.

Automatic commercial doors

Senior’s automated SD commercial doors were also fitted at the building’s entrance to manage the high traffic of people entering the building.

The door system has been designed with an anti-finger trap feature to ensure the safety of its users.
