Garth Hill College was transformed by vinyl artwork that was created using 3M’s Graphic Film
The space accommodates a life-sized model of Doctor Who’s Tardis, which is used by students to record feedback on learning and teaching.
Garth Hill College wanted to accentuate the presence of its Tardis with new artwork.
The college wanted to install artwork that would inspire its staff and students.
It wanted to add the dynamics of its covered space to create a thought-provoking area.
3M Commercial Graphics, Surface View and the college worked together to design textured surfaces, pillar wraps and floor graphics for the space.
When it came to manufacturing the graphics, vinyl was Surface View’s material of choice.
Vinyl would allow images to be printed accurately.
The use of the material would optimise the appearance of the pillar wraps, which were designed with intricate images of whirlpool bubbles, geometric shapes and flowers.
3M’s Scotchcal Graphic Film was used for the floor graphics.
The material, which can be applied directly to brick surfaces, is able to withstand high traffic, which made it ideal for installation in a busy educational environment.
The vinyl was combined with Scotchcal Matte Overlaminate to create a non-slip surface which is safe to walk on.
The longevity of the material ensures that Garth Hull’s new vinyl artwork will last.
