Lucideon is able to conduct searches on almost any material based subject, allowing companies to gather vital information on composite materials, processes, properties, applications and benefits.
Composites play an integral part in the performance efficiency of many products and trying to establish if they could help to improve products can be time consuming and problematic.
MIDAR Technology offers low energy solution
Lucideon’s MIDAR Technology, which allows materials to solidify without the need for firing and processing at high temperatures, could provide a low energy alternative in the manufacture of construction products.
The technology has successfully passed feasibility trials in collaboration with Sellafield Ltd in the management of low and intermediate level waste, with plans put in place to use it in large scale trials in the future.
The working qualities of the technology could provide a solution to encapsulate waste in sectors such as the nuclear industry, providing many benefits including lower energy consumption and fewer emissions of greenhouse gases.
From its headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent, Lucideon has deployed a team of scientists and engineers to develop the technology, alongside offering materials testing and assurance to sectors including ceramic, construction, healthcare and power generation.
The company has recently opened a new facility in North Carolina as part of its ongoing investment programme to increase its workforce by over 50 per cent over the next three years.
