Lo-Carbon EKF Kitchen Box Fan shortlisted for HVR Award

The fan has been shortlisted in the Commercial Ventilation Product of the Year category

Taking place on 26th November at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London and organised by Heating and Ventilating Review magazine, the awards recognise the innovative products and technology within the sector.

The Box Fan is fully compliant for ErP 2015 and meets the new Part L Building Regulation requirements for low Specific Fan Power, incorporating a durable EC motor alongside a backward curved impeller and integral potentiometer that provides full manual speed control.

The EKF Kitchen Box Fan meets the requirements for kitchen ventilation systems as set out in the 2013 edition of the Non-Domestic building Services Compliance Guide which states that SFP levels must be below 1.0W/I/s.

Users can see returns on investment within 12 months

The technology used in the Box Fan cuts energy and running costs by up to 44% when compared to AC motor fans with transformer speed control, with users gaining a return on their investment over a 12 month period.

The EKF Fan is designed to operate in elevated duct temperatures of up to 120°C and runs alongside energy efficient EC motors to ensure that running costs can be slashed, due to the motor being positioned outside the airstream to protect it from grease.

Featuring an easy to use potentiometer speed control to give end users dominance over the fan’s extract rate, the Kitchen Box Fan ensures that the air quality is kept at a comfortable level for staff whilst also maintaining efficiency levels and prohibiting over ventilation.

The potentiometer can be replaced by a sensor with a 10v output for fully automated control of the air quality, whilst the casing on the fan is acoustically insulated and remains quiet in operation.

The duct connections on the fan can be adjusted in any direction, blowing straight through or turning through 90° with the ducts positioned either vertically, horizontally or both.

Products that were developed in response to changing policies were a driving force for the final shortlists for this year’s HVR Awards, which is attended by the biggest names in the heating and ventilation industry.
