Concrete roof tiles used in rural construction project

The new houses, built with concrete tiles from Russell Roof Tiles, are located in West Oxfordshire, where homes cost 12 times more than salaries on average

Partnered with the Blenheim Estate, the Sovereign Housing Association launched a project to build five new houses in Bladon, Oxfordshire.

The development was inspired by the house prices in rural areas, which are often higher than in towns and cities despite the local wages being lower. The new houses were designed to be affordable and cost effective.

Russell Roof’s concrete tiles were specified for the project. Designed to require little maintenance and be durable, its Costwold Plain Tiles are able to withstand freeze thaw conditions and can be installed quickly.

Their traditional appearance also complemented the other materials that were used in the scheme.
