In the run up to the General Election, the GGF plans to engage with MPs who have GGF Members in their constituencies.
With the Election scheduled to take place on 7th May 2015, the GGF is aiming to meet with MPs and inform them of its Members’ concerns.
The company also hopes to suggest solutions to make the UK housing stock more energy efficient to the Government.
When Ed Balls MP attended a recent meeting at Anglian Home Improvements’ Ossett branch, he was briefed on the key issues surrounding the GGF’s ‘Cut the VAT’ campaigns on energy efficient windows.
He was also briefed on the issues associated with the Coalition Government’s Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) schemes.
The GGF is appealing for alternative energy efficiency schemes that will help reduce carbon emissions and improve the UK housing stock as Green Deal and ECO are failing to live up to its expectations.
The company intends to arrange more meetings and site visits with MPs to gain a greater understanding of how the Government plan to improve energy efficiency in existing UK properties.
The GGF hopes its meetings will influence the Government to change the existing schemes and consider its alternative ideas.
