Consumer rights at the centre of discussion at GGF meeting

  • 12 May 2015

Featuring updates and presentations from the GGF Technical and Marketing staff, the meeting focused mainly on the impact of the new Consumer Rights Act, introduced in March 2015, to be implemented in October this year.

Evander Glazing & Locks and Hazlemere Windows (pictured) were presented membership certificates.

Mark Hanson, of Ultraframe and Chairman of the GGF Conservatory Association, chaired the meeting and commented “It was a great meeting with diverse and interesting presentations as well as an excellent attendance made up of Members, keynote speakers, invited guests and GGF Staff.”

With consumer rights at the heart of the discussions, Peter Stonely – Chartered Trading Standards Institute Lead Office on Civil Law, and Director of Stonely Training – hosted a guest presentation entitled ‘Consumer Rights or Business Wrongs?’

Brian Smith, GGF Home Improvement and Membership Director commented, “Not only was it good to have such a high number attending but many in the audience contributed first-hand knowledge, relevant questions and developed the discussion on consumer rights issues.”

GGF also welcomed two new Members into Membership with Certificates presented to Evander Glazing & Locks Ltd and Hazlemere Windows Ltd by GGF President Brian Baker.

Giles Willson, GGF Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Technical Affairs attended and presented at the meeting, commenting that The Joint Conservatory Association and Window and Door Group had “exceeded all expectations and proved a great advert for the GGF.”
