Broad Oak Primary School is the most recent establishment to have benefited from the installation of Polyflor’s Expona Flow PUR sheet vinyl flooring.
The school, which is located in Didsbury, selected the popular vinyl flooring product to provide a visually-pleasing, hard wearing surface for its busy dining area.
The flooring was specified in Reclaimed Chevron 9830, one of Expona Flow’s popular designs.
With intricate detailing and depth, the design provides a reclaimed wood effect with a natural oak plank aesthetic.
With its inbuilt herringbone pattern, the Reclaimed Chevron design holds similarities to the school assembly hall’s paraquet flooring, which was already fitted at the time of installation.
The school’s canteen is separated from the hall by a partition, which can be moved to create an open space.
Therefore, it was important that the new flooring was carefully chosen to compliment the existing flooring in the hall.
Impressed with the product and its design, Broad Oak Primary School selected it to create a statement flooring, in keeping with its existing interior.
The Expona Flow PUR range of heavy commercial sheet vinyl flooring was launched by Polyflor earlier this year.
It comprises 50 stone, wood and abstract designs, which are supplied in a sheet format.
At 2 metres wide, each sheet has been developed with a 2mm gauge and a 0.7mm wear layer. The flooring is cross-linked with Polyflor’s PUR polyurethane reinforcement to allow for easy cleaning and maintenance.
With a BRE A+ rating for use in the eduction sector, the flooring holds impressive environmental credentials; it can be completely recycled through the Recofloor vinyl ‘take back’ scheme.
Polyflor’s Polysafe Vogue Ultra PUR safety flooring was also supplied to the primary school for installation.
It was fitted in the corridors leading to Broad Oak Primary School’s dining room and outdoor playground to provide slip-resistance.
The safety flooring was installed in the shade Steel Blue 4740 by Manchester-based contractors, Barratt & Hughes, who also dealt with the installation of Expona Flow.
