In this video, Greg Clarke, process engineer at Pilkington United Kingdom Limited, talks us through the process that takes place at the state-of-the-art off-line coater in St. Helens, UK: from how the coatings are created during the sputtering process to how they’re used in core products such as Pilkington K Glass S, as well as more complex solar control glass such as Pilkington Suncool.
Since it was commissioned in 2012, the coater has produced over 10 million square meters of glass.
