Dubbed as an all-inclusive route to Building Regulations compliance, FENSA Pay As You Go has been designed for infrequent installers of replacement doors and windows in domestic properties.
With FENSA’s original route to compliance creating an extra level of admin for infrequent installers, Pay As You Go has been developed as an easy alternative.
Comparable to the Local Authority Building Control compliance route, the new scheme omits the need for operatives to hold MTC Cards, or companies to provide IBGs.
Although it has been designed with infrequent installers in mind, FENSA Pay As You Go is open to any installation company of any size
FENSA Pay As You Go companies will have jobs inspected, instead of being subject to its usual random inspections.
They will not need to provide mandatory Insurance Backed Guarantees (IBGs), as companies must do under FENSA’s original route to compliance.
The new surveillance process also allows companies to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations without individual operatives having to hold a Minimum Technical Competency (MTC) Card.
However, Pay As You Go companies will still need to be ‘Certified’ to demonstrate competence and undertake a document and procedures audit at an onsite Certification inspection.
This needs to be repeated every three years.
Under the scheme, all installations will receive an inspection visit, costing £125.
To encourage maximum sign up, FENSA will be discounting this charge to £100 for a limited period.
FENSA will also provide appropriate homeowner financial protection against Building Regulation non-compliance through an independently managed fund.
